The idea is to make www.domainame.com to point to subfolder instead using public_html/root folder and also easing arrange folder for your web hosting. On the other hand it also help increasing your page ranking and google search result. read more to learn how. Before we begin, you must know that your web hosting must have mod_write future on apache and an access to .htaccess. # Do not change this line. RewriteEngine on # Change yourdomain.com to be your main domain. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?mydomain.com$ # Change 'secondfolder' to be the folder you will use for your main domain. RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/secondfolder/ # Don't change this line. RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d # Change 'secondfolder' to be the folder you will use for your main domain. RewriteRule ^(.)$ /secondfolder/$1 # Change yourdomain.com to be your main domain again. # Change 'secondfolder' to be the folder you will use for your main domain # followed by / then the main file for your site, index.php, index.html, etc. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?mydomain.com$ RewriteRule ^(/)?$ secondfolder/index.php [L] Note: Please change the mydomain.net* to your domain name and also change secondfolder to your subfolder you want it to be point as you default folder.
